Profile Sharing

Profile sharing lets someone register you for events, manage your registrations, and update your profile information and vehicles using their own MotorsportReg login.

You don't need to share your password. You can give access to more than one person and remove their access when they no longer need it. Profile sharing allows teams, families, and friend groups to connect their profiles and register for events together.

Shared profile: a profile someone lets you manage

A shared profile is someone else's profile that you've been given permission to manage. You use your own login to register that person for events, manage their registrations, and update their profile information and vehicles.

For example, a teammate can share their profile with you so you can register them for an event. They keep control of their profile. You cannot give anyone else access, and either of you can end your access.

Child profile: a profile you own and control

A child profile is a separate profile for another attendee that you own and control through your account. Their profile information, registrations, and vehicles stay separate from yours.

For example, you might create a child profile to register your child for events. As the parent, you can give other people access to that profile and remove their access.

Which should I use?

  • Your child needs a new profile: Choose Add child profile in Account to create a profile you will own and manage.
  • The person already has a profile: Choose Request access, or ask the owner to use Give access. Don't create a duplicate profile just to register them.
  • Someone needs to register you or your child: Use Give access for the appropriate profile. They use their own login; you don't need to share your password.

How to give someone access to your profile

  1. Log in to MotorsportReg > My Account.
  2. Find your profile and choose Give access from its menu. You can also choose Give access from the + menu.
  3. Enter the email address the other person uses to log in to MotorsportReg.
  4. Select Give access.

If the email matches an eligible MotorsportReg account with a login, access starts immediately. The other person can then use their own account to register you for events and manage your information.

Giving someone access does not give you access to their profile. They must give you access separately. They also cannot give anyone else access to your profile.

How to give someone access to your child's profile

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Find your child's profile and select Manage access.
  3. Select Give access.
  4. Enter the email address the other person uses to log in to MotorsportReg.
  5. Select Give access.

Use Manage access on your child's profile to see and remove the people who have access to it. Giving someone access does not make them the profile's parent.

To create a new child profile, choose Add child profile from Account's + menu and complete the profile form.

How to request access to someone else's profile

  1. Log in to MotorsportReg and open My Account.
  2. Choose Request access from the + menu.
  3. Enter the profile owner's email address and name.
  4. Select Request access.

MotorsportReg emails the owner with your name, email address, and instructions for giving you access. You'll receive a separate email about your request.

Sending a request does not give you access. The owner must log in and use Give access to share the profile with you. There is no one-click approval in the email.

If you receive a request you don't recognize or don't want to approve, you can ignore it.

How to register someone who has shared their profile with you

  1. Log in using your own MotorsportReg account.
  2. Start registration for the event.
  3. Choose the person you want to register from the profile list and select Register now.
  4. Complete the registration and checkout.

From an event dashboard, Register someone else opens the profile list for that event.

You can also find profiles shared with you in My Account. Choose Edit profile to update a person's information. You won't see Give access for a profile that someone else shared with you.

Vehicles and payments

  • Vehicles added during registration belong to the attendee you are registering.
  • My garage shows only your own vehicles, not vehicles belonging to people who shared their profiles with you.
  • When registering another person, you can use your own saved payment methods. Sharing a profile does not give you access to that person's saved cards. An exception applies when you register your own child: their saved payment methods are also available.
  • Gift redemption and registration credits are available only when registering yourself or your own child, not another person who shared their profile with you.

How to remove someone's access

  1. Open My Account and find the person who has access to your profile.
  2. Select Remove access.
  3. Confirm that you want to remove their access.

For your child's profile, select Manage access first, then remove the person from that page.

Access ends immediately, and both parties receive an email. The person can no longer register that profile for events, manage its registrations, or update its information. Access stays removed unless it is given again.

How to stop managing someone else's profile

  1. Open My Account and find the profile shared with you.
  2. Select Remove my access.
  3. Confirm that you want to remove your access.

Both parties receive an email. To manage the profile again, ask the owner to give you access again.

Remove a child profile from your account

Either the parent or the child can end their access relationship. If the child still shares an email address, their profile must have its own unique email address before the relationship can be removed.

If MotorsportReg asks you to update the child's email, select Edit profile, update the existing profile, and then try removing access again.

For event organizers

Profile sharing allows one person to register another attendee using their own login.

In People, a persons profile shows people with access to their profile and profiles they can manage. Give Access and removal controls are available there to help your members manage access.
