How to require Date of Birth

Birth Date is an optional field that is part of the core profile data such as email address, name and phone numbers. The date of birth and our auto-calculated age field can be very useful for membership and licensing constraints or special discounts. 

You can require a date of birth using one of three  form validation rules:

1. Valid date of birth (verify a valid date is present but make no decision based on age)
2. Minimum age (enforces a valid date and checks the age is equal to or greater than the number you provide, e.g. 18 or older AS OF THE EVENT DATE)
3. Maximum age (enforces a valid date and checks the age is equal to or lesser than the number you provide, e.g. 17 or younger r AS OF THE EVENT DATE)

Use the standard validation actions to either stop the person from registering or require them to make an alternate selection.

Before requiring a date of birth from your attendees, consider that each additional field you request decreases the likelihood that they complete their registration.Don't collect date of birth (or anything else, really) unless you need it.
